Join NCI's Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD) for an informational pre-application webinar on NOT-PAR-22-114, Administrative Supplements to Support Cancer Disparity Collaborative Research (Clinical Trial Optional). Program staff from across NCI will highlight the scope and focus of the new funding initiative, including topics relevant for global health practitioners; and answer questions from interested applicants.

Ophira Ginsburg, M.D., M.Sc., Senior Scientific Officer, Senior Advisor for Clinical Research, Center for Global Health will provide a rationale and overview of the work of The Lancet Commission on Women and Cancer, which is in progress. This ICAP Grand Rounds webinar will be presented as part of the ICAP-Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center (HICCC) Initiative Webinar focused on addressing cancer in a global context.

In recognition of Nelson Mandela Day, the NCI Global Health Interest Group (NCI-GHIG) will host a panel discussion on diversity, equity, and inclusion in global health. The session will provide opportunities to engage in meaningful dialogue with four global health experts from Africa, Asia, and Latin America whose work focuses on achieving global health equity. Discussions will focus on actions that the broader public health community and early career scientists can take to enhance equity and justice in global health research and practice.

Dr. Satish Gopal, Center for Global Health Director, will present at the Global Health Catalyst Summit at 10:30am, ET, on July 7th.

The DCEG Fellows Cancer Health Disparities Group and NCI Global Health Interest Group will host a seminar with speaker Temidayo Fedelu, M.D., M.P.H.

During the Professional Development and Education Advances poster session track of the ASCO Annual Meeting 2022, the Center for Global Health and partners will present the poster "Mapping global oncology priorities: A survey of the directors of the NCI-designated cancer centers." During the Care Delivery and Regulatory Policy poster session track of the ASCO Annual Meeting 2022, the Center for Global Health and partners will present the poster "Exploring Country Priorities and Contextual Considerations for Implementing National Cancer Control Plans (NCCP) Among Participants of International Cancer Control Partnership (ICCP) ECHO." Ophira Ginsburg, MD, MSc, Center for Global Health’s (CGH) Senior Scientific Officer, Senior Advisor for Clinical Research, will be recognized with the ASCO 2022 Humanitarian Award on June 4, at their Annual Meeting, in Chicago, IL. Dr. Ginsburg will receive this award for her exceptional service and leadership in the U.S. and abroad, during the “Mentorship and Career Development Roundtable: A Discussion with ASCO’s Special Award Recipients” session. This International Cancer Screening Network webinar, taking place on Tuesday, April 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. ET, is an opportunity for the screening community to learn about, and reflect on, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on cervical cancer screening, specifically in low- and middle- income countries, where people are at an increased risk for cervical cancer.
