Mr. Steven Cole serves as a Program Analyst for the Office of the Director within the Center for Strategic Scientific Initiatives (CSSI) at the NCI. In this capacity, he performs analytics reporting, input, planning and development of CSSI initiatives, working to further promote the mission of finding new and exciting technologies and discoveries.
Before starting his role with CSSI, Mr. Cole was an Employee Relations Specialist at the NIH Office of the Director, Employee and Labor Relations Branch, Workforce Relations Division, where he advised NIH Management in employee performance, conduct, and medical cases. He received his B.A. in Business Administration from High Point University in 2001.
Mr. Cole’s first role with the National Cancer Institute was in 2007, where he served as an Administrative Assistant to the NCI Deputy Director, Dr. Anna D. Barker. In 2009, he transitioned to Program Analyst and assisted Dr. Emily Greenspan with the inaugural funding of NCI’s Provocative Questions Initiative. In this role he assisted with the analysis of contracts, grants and cooperative agreements for CSSI Programs and Initiatives. Using his experience at the NCI and Office of the Director, he hopes to play an important role in finding and implementing advanced technologies to support CSSI’s mission to empower the entire cancer research community.
