About the Center for Strategic Scientific Initiatives
The Center for Strategic Scientific Initiatives (CSSI) is an extramural research office of the National Cancer Institute (NCI). CSSI coordinates many of NCI's interdisciplinary cancer research programs and, in partnership with other offices at NCI and with input from the extramural research community, we identify and implement new opportunities for cancer researchers through scientific programs, events, and research resources. CSSI is comprised of the CSSI Office of the Director (CSSI OD), which performs strategic planning activities and coordinates cancer research programs, and the Knowledge Management and Special Projects Branch (KMSPB), which performs portfolio analysis and manages reporting of NCI-funded research.
