Mishka Kohli Cira, M.P.H.
Mishka Kohli Cira, M.P.H., joined the Center for Global Health (CGH) in March 2015. She leads and supports CGH’s key dissemination activities including coordination of the Annual Symposium on Global Cancer Research (ASGCR), engagement in the International Cancer Control Partnership (ICCP) and coordination of the ICCP Project ECHO for National Cancer Control Plan Implementation, and coordination of NCI participation in partner-led global cancer meetings such as the World Cancer Congress hosted by the Union for International Cancer Control.
Ms. Cira has an interest in facilitating linkage of researchers to implementers and decision-makers for knowledge exchange around policy implementation, strengthening patient and patient group engagement in cancer research and cancer control, and increasing opportunities for the study and advancement of cancer survivorship care in global settings. Mishka began her career working in international education at the College Consortium for International Studies, and served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer teaching English as a foreign language in the Slovak Republic (1992-1995). She has also lived and worked in Brazil, Vietnam, and Kenya.
Ms. Cira received her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Liverpool, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Russian studies from Colgate University.
