US and Korea Commit to International Collaboration for Cancer Research and Control

NCI Director, Dr. Kimryn Rathmell and NIFDS Director General, Dr. Seogyoun Kang.

On November 19, 2024, the U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the National Institute of Food and Drug Safety Evaluation (NIFDS) of the Republic of Korea Ministry of Food and Drug Safety signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU). This agreement underscores the critical roles these institutions play in advancing the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer globally.  

Rooted in the spirit of international cooperation, this MOU seeks to foster progress in cancer research through joint initiatives, professional meetings, and/or research training programs. The agreement was signed by Dr. Seogyoun Kang, Director General of NIFDS, and Dr. Kimryn Rathmell, Director of the U.S. NCI.
