Ireland-Northern Ireland-US National Cancer Institute Cancer Consortium MoU Signing

On Tuesday, March 16 at 11 a.m. ET, the National Cancer Institute joined the governments of Ireland and Northern Ireland to strengthen cancer research, control, and training collaborations through the re-signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) of the Ireland-Northern Ireland-NCI Cancer Consortium.
The Consortium aims to reduce cancer incidence and mortality on the island of Ireland through cross-border and transatlantic collaborations in cancer research and education.
The virtual event, hosted by InterTradeIreland, included the signing of the MOU and remarks by the An Taoiseach (IE), First Minister (NI), deputy First Minister (NI), US Acting Secretary of Health and Human Services, and NCI Director. In addition, participants heard cancer patients and experts give their views on cancer care on the island of Ireland.
