Patient Satisfaction with Appearance, Scar Outcome and Quality of Life after Skin Cancer Surgery

This trial studies satisfaction with appearance, scar outcome, and quality of life in patients with skin cancer after surgery. Assessing patients' satisfaction following treatment may help to better advice and counsel patients to improve their care.
Inclusion Criteria
Patients >= 18 years of age at the time of surgery
Had a diagnosis of a cutaneous malignancy
* Cutaneous malignancy includes, but is not limited to basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma
Able to speak and read English
MEMORIAL SLOAN KETTERING (MSK) ONLY CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY: Radiation therapy patients >= 18 years of age who have received radiotherapy (RT) for skin cancer
Exclusion Criteria
Unable to speak and read English

I. To assess patient satisfaction with appearance and scar outcome, associated appearance-related distress and patient-reported problems using the FACE-Q Skin Cancer scales and checklist at different timepoints (i.e., < 6 months, 6 months to 1 year, > 1 year) following skin cancer surgery/treatment.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVE:
I. To evaluate whether patient-reported satisfaction with appearance, quality of life, and information following skin cancer surgery/treatment, measured by the FACE-Q Skin Cancer scales and checklist, differs by wound repair technique (i.e., primary closure, flaps, grafts, secondary intention healing).
OUTLINE: This is an observational study.
Patients complete scales and checklists from the FACE-Q Skin Cancer Module and medical records are reviewed on study.
