Launch of the WHO Collaborating Center for Global Cancer Control
On June 18, 2024, the Center for Global Health (CGH) welcomed a World Health Organization (WHO) delegation to the National Cancer Institute (NCI) for the launch of the third re-designation of the NCI WHO Collaborating Center (WHOCC) for Global Cancer Control. The re-designation of the NCI WHOCC for Global Cancer Control renews the efforts of an eight year partnership with WHO, to strengthen health systems and improve outcomes related to global cancer control.
The launch served as a forum to discuss shared priorities between CGH and the WHO's Department of Noncommunicable Diseases; celebrate the accomplishments of the first eight years of the WHOCC for Global Cancer Control; and reaffirm the focus and goals of this third designation period (2024-2028).
