Trial Description
Specialized radiation therapy that delivers a high dose of radiation directly to the tumor may kill more tumor cells and cause less damage to normal tissue.
This phase II trial is studying how well conformal radiation therapy works in treating patients with metastatic cancer outside the brain.
Eligibility criteria include the following:
- At least 18 years old
- Measurable disease
- More than 2 weeks since chemotherapy
- For more information about the eligibility criteria for this trial, refer to the Health Professional version.
Final eligibility for a clinical trial is determined by the health professionals conducting the trial.
Patients will undergo conformal radiation therapy every other day for 5 days (three treatments). They will also undergo an imaging procedure before and after each treatment.
Patients will fill out a pain questionnaire at the beginning of the study and at 1 and 3 months after finishing treatment.
After finishing treatment, patients will be evaluated at 1 and 3 months and every 3 months for up to 1 year.
